The course focuses on risk management, complication handling, and biologic principles to help you achieve stable, long-term implant success in complex posterior maxillary cases.

This advanced surgical course is designed to provide the knowledge, clinical skill, practice and experience to provide predictable treatment protocol for indirect and direct sinus augmentation procedures. These required grafting procedures are often pre-requisites to develop the potential implant recipient sites for optimal biomechanics and aesthetics for the final implant restorations in the posterior maxilla.    

This course is designed for experienced dentists in the field of implantology. Take this course if you have already placed a minimum of 50 implants.

  • Rationale for fundamental biologic wound healing principles for predictable sinus grafting
  • Top 10 Vital Rules for bone grafting to enhance predictable success rates
  • Pre-surgical diagnostic requirements and indications for CBCT scans for treatment planning and selection for sinus grafting protocol
  • Sequential 3D digital diagnostic evaluation protocol for predictable sinus bone grafting
  • Anatomic review of vital zones as it pertains to the maxillary sinus
  • Rationale for selection of Autogenous, Allografts, Xenografts and Alloplastic biomaterials
  • Management of complications for indirect or direct sinus grafting  
  • Horizontal augmentations utilizing guided bone regenerations, ridge splitting and autogenous block grafting techniques  
  • Advanced soft tissue management and grafting protocols
  • Understand the indications, guidelines and surgical protocols for use of short dental implants, crestal approach and lateral window sinus grafting
  • Indications and surgical protocol for use of short dental implants 
  • Indications and surgical protocol for indirect sinus grafting using Osteotomes and Specialized crestal approach kits
  • Indications and surgical protocol for direct lateral window sinus grafting
  • Risk management and consent matters related to sinus bone grafting

Dr. Mark Lin

B.Sc., D.D.S., M.Sc. (Prosthodontics), F.R.C.D.(C)
Founder & Director of T.I.D.E.
Dr. Mark H.E. Lin, a distinguished prosthodontist, earned his B.Sc., D.D.S., and M.Sc. in prosthodontics from the University of Toronto. He is a former assistant professor at the University of Toronto and a recognized fellow and examiner with the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in prosthodontics. 

Dr. Lin specializes in full mouth reconstructions, dental implant surgery, and implant prosthetics. He maintains a full-time specialty practice and mentors dentists in live-patient procedures.
